Choose the material. Discuss the process.

Explore molybdenum, nickel-aluminium and nickel-based alloy wires. Discuss the grade, diameter and supply format your coating process needs.

Material first. Process in context.

Thermal spraying builds a coating by projecting heated material onto a prepared surface. The feedstock is part of a wider coating process: material selection, equipment, surface preparation and application conditions all matter. Our material supply and technical discussions support specialist coating operations.

Electric arc wire spraying uses two electrically charged metallic wires and an atomising gas stream. Flame spraying is a different process route. A product should be selected for the equipment and specification actually in use; the name of the alloy alone does not establish compatibility. Confirm the required material form with the coating specialist and equipment guidance.

What matters in a wire enquiry?

Include the exact material designation, wire diameter, equipment or spray process, quantity and preferred spool or packaging. Explain whether the coating objective concerns wear, refurbishment, bonding or another need. These details establish a useful starting point for reviewing the material rather than relying on a general-purpose product description.

Molybdenum, NiAl, NiCr, pure nickel and specialty alloy wires serve different material requirements. Wire dimensions and supply conditions depend on the material and spray process. Ask for the specification relevant to the wire and process you intend to qualify.

Qualification and supporting information

A material discussion should establish the applicable standard, supply condition and inspection requirements before commercial agreement. Ask which technical information is available for the particular product. Use the agreed material specification as the basis for qualification. The coating system and application conditions determine the performance of the finished surface.

Development beyond solid wire

Cored-wire and powder requirements call for a separate technical discussion. A cored wire is a distinct product construction and should not be treated as ordinary solid wire. Share your material and development objectives so the team can discuss feasibility.

For an initial development enquiry, describe the problem you are trying to address as well as the desired material. If you already work to an established specification, provide its designation and revision with the relevant requirements. This helps focus the discussion on feasibility, documentation and supply condition.
